The histopathology of cysts in humans without symptoms of cysticercosis who died of other causes resembles that observed for viable cysts in pigs. In contrast, most cysts from patients with symptomatic disease are associated with prominent inflammatory response. The metacestodes have elaborate means of evading complementmediated destruction and suppressing cellular immune response. Thus, the symptoms of parenchymal cysticercosis appear to result from inflammation, which develops when the cyst loses its ability to modulate the host response.1 This is true of our patients who all had symptoms and whose CT scans showed that there were rim enhancing lesions and or calcifications which mean that there was inflammatory reaction in the brain tissue surrounding it and or degeneration of the cysts and tolmetin.
